I know thin provisioning is the way to go for Enterprise but for SMBs, I wish they would just stick to thick provisioning since they spin up a server and just keep it around for years anyways. Even if I wanted to storage vmotion the disk, there is just not enough space for it all to convert it to thick provisioning. All their VMs are thin provisioned on top of the thin provisioning on the NAS. I am going to discuss it with them tomorrow to see what they want to do. I was really spinning my wheels as to how this set up was even possible but now that you guys mentioned thin provisioning on the NAS as well, it is making sense.
